Symbol library

Symbols are drawn to IEC 60617 on a 20 px grid. Every device has electrical properties (rated voltage, current, curve, time…) that the simulation uses. This page lists the groups; the properties panel in the app shows the details of each symbol.

Supply

Potentials L1 L2 L3 N PE (230/400 V, 50 Hz) and L+ / M (24 V DC) as named points; same-named points are connected. DC and AC voltage sources; batteries (AA/AAA, 9 V, lead-acid 12 V in car, motorcycle and solar types); a generator (single- or three-phase) that starts by click or by a contact on S1–S2 after a start-up time. In simulation, clicking a supply simulates a power outage of that phase.

Protection

  • Fuse gG/aM; fuse switch-disconnector 1P…3P+N with fuse size.
  • MCB 1P, 1P+N, 2P, 3P, 3P+N, 4P with curve B/C/D (or instantaneous), rated current and breaking capacity.
  • RCD 2P/4P (IΔn 10…500 mA, type AC/A/F/B) and RCBO; test button in simulation.
  • MCCB with optional shunt (MX) or undervoltage (MN) release.
  • Breaker auxiliary contacts OF (position) and SD (trip indication).
  • Surge arrester / spark gap (IEC S00371–S00373) in single- and three-phase arrangements.
  • Thermal overload relay (main contacts and 95-96 / 97-98 auxiliaries), motor protection breaker, phase monitoring relay (phase loss, sequence, asymmetry), PTC thermistor relay with a thermistor symbol for the motor winding.

Operators and sensors

Push buttons (NO, NC, NO+NC, changeover, mushroom, with colours), latching switches, pull switches, 2- and 3-position selectors; limit switches, proximity sensors, float and pressure switches, thermostats, light barriers. Momentary devices act while pressed; latching ones toggle.

Relays, timers and contactors

Coils: relay, timer on-delay (TON), off-delay (TOF), pulse, one-shot, latching (ratchet), time switch, solenoid valve. Contactor main contacts (1…4 poles) and auxiliary contacts NO, NC, NO+NC and changeover, numbered 13-14 / 21-22 … automatically. Timer contacts with delayed symbols.

Signalling and loads

Indicator lamps (colours, flashing), sirens, horns, buzzers, bells; single-phase motors, fans, pumps; three-phase motors with 3 or 6 terminals (star/delta), large and small variants, PE terminal; heaters.

Terminals, connectors, transformers, meters

Terminal strips, plugs and sockets; single- and three-phase transformers with ratio, AC/DC power supplies, frequency inverter (1~ in, 3~ out, DI1 forward, DI2 reverse, AI 0–10 V speed reference); voltmeter, ammeter, wattmeter, kWh meter, frequency meter, hour counter.

PLC

One PLC symbol with the model chosen in its properties: Siemens LOGO! 8 and LOGO! 12/24, S7-200 CPU 222 and 224, S7-1200 CPU 1214C, Schneider Modicon M221 TM221CE16R, and a generic PLC with configurable voltage, inputs, outputs and analog channels. Each model is drawn with its real terminal layout. See PLC and Ladder.

Annotation

Lines, polylines, rectangles, ellipses, free text, tables and images for titles, frames and notes. Shapes can be sent behind or in front of symbols.
